The Green-Hope Foundation, Inc is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2018 to facilitate positive youth development through community outreach and programs that emphasize education, athletics, and recreational activities.

Deshaune Green

Founder & CEO

​Deshaune Green is the founder of the Green-Hope Foundation, Inc. He's a Portsmouth, Virginia native and a former student-athlete of Portsmouth Public Schools. It has always been a vision of Mr. Green to use his basketball platform to inspire and reach the youth. Mr. Green is a graduate of the University of Mount Olive and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Leisure Services and Sports Management. He's currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Coaching Education from Old Dominion University. After finishing his collegiate basketball career, he played professionally for the Providence SkyChiefs (ABA/PBL), the Hampton Roads Warriors (ECBL), and currently plays for the Beltway Bombers (APBL). After his basketball career, Mr. Green plans to dedicate his mission and resources to Helping Others Progress Efficiently.

Qianna Norman

Director of Administration & Marketing

Meet Qianna Norman: a passionate advocate for women and mothers who's making a difference in both her professional and personal life. Qianna graduated from Old Dominion University and Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology, with a focus on Child Welfare. She also earned a Master of Arts Degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.

But Qianna's accomplishments don't stop there. She's the founder of extraordinaryselflove.com, a website that empowers women and mothers to embrace their identity and cultivate self-love and self-awareness. Through her platform, she's inspiring women to prioritize their own well-being and find joy in the journey of motherhood.

Currently, Qianna is making a difference in the Nation's Capital as a federal government employee. Her dedication to serving her community and advocating for social justice is evident in both her professional and personal endeavors.

Qianna's story is proof that with hard work, passion, and a commitment to making a difference, anything is possible. Whether you're a mother, a professional, or simply someone looking to make a positive impact, Qianna's example is sure to inspire and motivate you.

Lamonte’ Theus

Basketball Skill Development Director ​

Lamonte’ Theus is a Portsmouth, VA native and former student athlete of Portsmouth Public Schools. He’s married to Brittney Theus and they have two sons, Mekhi and Maceo Theus. Mr. Theus was the top recruit and player for Southern University, Brunswick Community College, and the University of Mount Olive. While attending the University of Mount Olive, Mr. Theus won the Carolina X Championship and was name All-Tournament Team. Currently Mr. Theus is pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in K-12 Education at Liberty University.  Mr. Theus has always had a vision of owning his own gymnasium that specializes in the development and training of the sport of basketball for all ages. It’s Mr. Theus’ aspiration to host different basketball camps/clinics and to develop youth and adult basketball leagues to teach his knowledge and skills of basketball and to provide mentorship.
